In the project management department, we ensure that the products are in the right place in the right quality at the right time. We mediate between our external brand partners and our internal interfaces. When working closely with the designers, we are also included in the product development process! One of the really cool things about workwear in the textile industry is that I can combine design work with a sense of purpose.

The project management department at Strauss stands out by the fact that it is very diverse and spontaneous. But even better: We take a different approach to the competition 😉!

I love combining functionality with aesthetics - and that's exactly what I can do at Strauss. In 2022, I joined the Prototyping team at Strauss as a fashion designer. We can almost completely replicate all steps of the textile chain in-house. We develop ideas and try to implement everything by hand, so it's a really hands-on mentality. With the opportunities offered by the Sample Room and Smart Lab, I have close contact with the products and can intensively oversee the complete product range.

What makes our work so special is our forward-thinking way of work: We work daily with many innovative technologies, such as 3D simulation of products on the computer, to design a more sustainable product. This allows me to work even more intuitively and we can make decisions for better design in advance.

Our team is still very young, so I was able to help build it from the beginning - we complement each other with ideas and inspirations and understood each other well right from the start.

The individual work steps in the prototyping team interlink smoothly, like a cog – everything is coordinated. And the atmosphere at work is great, too. 😊 Anyone who wants to join our team certainly needs a lot of motivation, stamina and humour!

Strauss has accompanied me since my childhood, I basically grew up in work trousers. And now I am also part of the workwear valley. During my apprenticeship as a wholesale and foreign trade clerk, I was able to pass through many different departments. And I loved the purchasing department right away! With my five colleagues:In the National Order Scheduling department, we maintain daily contact with more than 40 national brand partners and buy in our materials. Respectful communication is particularly important here. My daily tasks include drawing up sales forecasts and ensuring that we always have stocks of our workwear for all customers. We experience something new every day - I love the flexibility and also working with numbers!

I have been at Strauss since 2015, when I completed my FOS work placement and began an apprenticeship. Since 2019, I have been working in the P&D-Department .

I fell in love immediately with the wide range of tasks and the friendly P&D-Team. What I really love about my work? Every day, I face new challenges: designing digital colour management, communicating with brand partners or optimising our packaging solutions together with the CEO - it never gets boring!

My daily business: ensuring that all substances comply with the relevant quality standards. Working closely with our brand partners, we also develop new trend colours that are also consistent with the proven quality of our products.

For me, working in the design department at Strauss means that I get to play an active role in a creative and motivated team that takes an innovative approach to workwear. Together, we come up with forward-thinking designs that also meet the highest of standards with respect to durability and sustainability. We aim for innovation. We pool all our know-how and can launch highly technical products. Starting with trend research and a briefing about initial ideas, we develop all textile products, be it trousers, T-shirts, caps or backpacks, and accompany them through to product maturity. Whatever the style, our creative skills and expertise are equally important when combining unusual designs with typical Strauss functionality: What standards does the item need to meet? What should it look like? How do different materials perform? This also requires close cooperation and a real hands-on mentality!

Our focus is always on the functionality of our articles. Certain norms need to be met and the items also need to support, not hinder, freedom of movement for specific professional groups. This is what makes the workwear field so interesting. Developing these special solutions and also optimising them is what I like best about my job. In collaboration with our designers, who are responsible for the draft designs, we discuss and plan what the product will look like and what functions and/or norms it needs to fulfil. Our team works independently within its own organisation. We also coordinate with our brand partners and with our designers, and with the accessory, packaging and project management teams. We are a great team and it is a lot of fun working on new items that are capable of and can withstand so much more than normal everyday garments. It never gets boring.
